About the project

We prepared the specimen for Vicker's Hardness test. We observed an overall increase in hardness as well as an increase in hardness as we approached the contact of the electrodes. The average hardness increased by 13.75%, with a 72.5% increase in hardness near the center. We ground and polished the specimens to observe their metallographic structure. We observed a reduction in the grain size under an Optical Microscope.
